Skills Assessment

If you are planning to immigrate to Australia, it is likely that you will be needing to obtain a positive skills assessment. The skills assessment determines if you have the skills and experience necessary to work in Australia at the required level for your occupation. This will also serve as your evidence in your visa application providing that you have been assessed by the relevant assessing authority suitable for your nominated occupation. If there is no existing professional body for your particular occupation, the VETASSESS will be the assessing authority for that occupation. This will include occupations classed as general professional occupation and trade occupation.

Skills Assessment Service Assistance

Unlike most migration agencies, we have an Australian lawyer who specializes in skills assessment services and offers a free but limited pre-assessment consultation in order to provide a superior service catered for every individual according to their circumstance. This will also serve as an initial assessment which includes relevant information of the client’s personal circumstance and documents as this will be is essential for us in determining whether or not the skills assessment you wish to qualify or obtain is likely to be successful.

Visas and Stream

Your positive skills assessment document can also be used for range of visa application for Australia including, skilled visas, employer-sponsored work visas and Expression of Interest (EOI). You will need a positive skills assessment if you apply for the following visas and stream:

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189)

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

Skilled Work Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 491)

Temporary Graduate Visa (Graduate Work stream)(subclass 485)

NOTE: The assessment of your qualifications and experience can take some time as each assessing authority has its own procedures, timeframes, charges, and documents required. This will vary according to your chosen occupation and the relevant assessing authority.

Why not practice your nursing profession in one of the world’s best countries. In 2021, the top 10 most livable cities in the world included four Australian cities: Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. In addition to enjoying a high quality of life, nurses are also well paid with annual RN salaries ranging between AUD58,000 to 92,000.
